Anansi the Spider existed long before Spiderman did. It originated from Ghana around the 1500s. Later, slaves who had lost most of their culture brought Anansi the Spider stories to the Caribbean. Anansi has many human traits. That is why artists give him a human face. Although he is very lazy, he always outsmarts his opponents.
What does he want?
Well, he seeks power, food, sleep, rest and money.
